There is much confusion as to whether Vincent is biologically Sarah Hunter's son or not. After Sarah came to an agreement with her lovers that they could each adopt one of the twenty-four rescued babies as their own, Vincent was adopted by Ben Barnes. When the twenty-four babies became ill suddenly, a decision had to be made. Blood from both Sarah and the other adoptive parent was shared with each of the babies.
